Felt it blowing yesterday

as if all these years never really mattered anyway

sweet Carolina wind between the branches

and these limbs

which held you tight not long ago

and now are free to come and go

another man’s heart another man’s arms

you were always the child

the cherry blossoms bloom

is brief and beautiful

crystalline patterns play upon the waters once more

this is the season we are feeling within us

the breath of it kisses our core

and I lie in your minds eye

once more

the sweet Carolina wind insufferable

irresistible

take it all in.
